Measure Your Cognitive Performance to Optimize Brain Health
As specialists in executive functioning, True Abilities is now offering assessments that measure cognitive skills over time. Through our partnership with CBS Health, these advanced assessments specifically for cognition are not typically offered by clinics, schools and other organizations. They have been validated by decades of scientific research and are proven to measure the most important aspects of cognition. The assessments include quick (and fun) activities that objectively measure your memory, reasoning, verbal ability, and attention—all facets of cognition that are important in your everyday life. Importantly, they are available for people of all ages (children AND adults), and results are compared to age-adjusted norms.
Why is Measuring Cognitive Health Important?
We all have a subjective idea of how our brains are doing—some days we feel “off” or have “brain fog,” while other days we feel like we can take on the world. But how much better are we on the good days? Are lifestyle or health changes making a difference? That’s where cognitive assessment comes in. By putting a number to these subjective feelings, we can discover what is causing the good days in order to have more of them. When your brain is performing, every activity in your daily life will be easier, from remembering where you parked your car to doing your taxes. Assessments can be taken online when convenient for you and take about 40 minutes. They can be taken as a one-time check (or monthly or quarterly to see changes over time).
Is this an IQ Test?
They are not an IQ test! Think of it more like a blood pressure cuff for your brain. There’s no judgment, and the goal is progress over time, because we acknowledge that brain health changes from day to day. That’s why we believe we can improve or maintain your performance through our treatment, and offer advanced cognitive assessments in our practice.
Do you have COVID-19 “brain fog” or know someone who has?
More and more, we are seeing the longer-term effects of Covid-19, which for many people include processing delays, memory issues and beyond. We are in uncharted territory, and it helps to know if you are making progress (objectively). Contact us to learn more or take a sample (partial) test now.
How do I get started?
To get started, sign up for a free consultation about a baseline assessment. Ask us how to incorporate cognitive assessments into your customized plan to improve executive functioning. Assessments can be completed at home online at your convenience or we can come to your home in Northern NJ. We will send you detailed reports with the findings and advise on recommended next steps.
